Baniyas suffered a narrow 1-0 defeat against Ajman at Rashid bin Saeed Stadium in Round 3 of the 2026/27 ADIB Cup.

The match began as an evenly contested encounter, with both sides looking to establish control and create scoring opportunities. The Sky Blues entered the contest aiming to extend their positive run following consecutive victories in the opening two rounds of the competition.

Throughout the first half, Baniyas looked to create space and build attacking moves in an effort to break through the hosts’ defence. Ajman also posed an attacking threat, but neither side managed to convert their opportunities, leaving the score goalless at the interval.

The competitive nature of the encounter continued after the restart, with both teams pushing forward in search of the opening goal. Baniyas remained determined to secure a positive result away from home as the contest progressed.

With the match approaching its closing stages, Ajman broke the deadlock in the 83rd minute, when Mohammed Juma found the back of the net following an assist from Yassine Jabri, giving the hosts a late advantage.

Baniyas responded by increasing their attacking pressure in the remaining minutes, pushing forward in search of an equaliser. However, despite their efforts, the Sky Blues were unable to find a breakthrough before the final whistle, as the match ended 1-0 in Ajman's favour.

The result leaves Baniyas on six points from three matches, following victories over Al Dhafra and Al Wahda in the opening two rounds, marking their first defeat of the competition.

The Sky Blues will now turn their attention to the upcoming fixtures, aiming to bounce back, return to winning ways and strengthen their chances of progressing to the knockout stages of the ADIB Cup.
