Petev: We're looking to correct mistakes and collect three points

Baniyas Club held a press conference ahead of their match against Kalba in the second round of the ADNOC Professional League, attended by coach Ivaylo Petev and player Khalid Al Hashemi.

Coach Ivaylo Petev expressed his anticipation for the team's first home match of the season, stressing that the primary goal is to win and collect three points. He said:

"We are seeking to correct some of the defensive and offensive issues that appeared in the last match against Al Wasl, and we must learn from the lessons learned from that match."

Petev added:

"The Kalba team has good players and a distinguished coach, but our focus is primarily on our team, developing the aspects we need and reducing previous mistakes."

Regarding the team's readiness, the coach explained that Bani Yas enters the match without any absentees, noting the return of player Suhail Al Nubi after missing the first round due to suspension. He also praised the players' performance, saying:

"Khamis Al Mansouri is a great player who can play in multiple positions, and Godin can play on both wings. The final decision always rests with the technical staff. My goal and ambition with Bani Yas is great, and we want to achieve the best results."

Khaled Al Hashemi: This is an important match, and we're building a team for the future

For his part, player Khaled Al Hashemi expressed his happiness at returning to the team, praising the warm welcome he received from the management, technical staff, and players since his first day. He said:

"The team includes a large number of new players, and this will require some time to fully integrate, but we are confident that the level will gradually improve."

Al Hashemi emphasized the importance of the match against Ittihad Kalba, describing it as a "six-point match." He added:

"Our goal is to win, and we must be patient with the team at this stage. We cannot judge the results from the start, as we are in a process of building and development."

He continued:

"I have spent many years with Bani Yas, and our goal in any season has never been just to survive. Rather, our ambition has always been to compete for championships. The management has made it clear to us that the current goal is to perform at the highest level on all levels."

Al-Hashemi concluded by saying:

"We are in the process of building a team for the future, and positive results will come with time. We are very confident that this project will bear fruit soon."
