The coach began his speech by emphasizing the team's readiness, saying:
"Our preparations for the start of the season were good, and the players showed great enthusiasm throughout the preparation period. Our main goal was to reach this opening match without any muscle injuries, and we succeeded thanks to the players' commitment and teamwork."
Petev added that team spirit will be the most important factor in the match against Al Wasl:
"We want to enter the match as one family and do our best to deliver a performance worthy of the Sky Blues and their fans. This match is the first step in a long journey, and the message we want to convey is that we will play with fighting spirit and determination from the first minute until the end."
Regarding his new experience in the UAE league, the coach said:
"I am very happy to be at Bani Yas Club and to take on a new experience and challenge in the ADNOC Pro League. I have good knowledge of Al Wasl; they are a great team with high-level players, but our focus at the moment is on our team, on being at the highest level of readiness, and on displaying great confidence."
Petev concluded his speech by addressing the club's long-term goals:
"We have an ambitious sporting project, and we have signed several new players this summer. Our mission as a technical staff is to prepare them optimally and bring out the best in them to serve the team and achieve the desired results."
Fawaz Awana: A new season with high ambitions and a strong desire to achieve a positive start.
For his part, team captain Fawaz Awana expressed his excitement for the start of the season, saying:
“We are entering a new season with different aspirations and ambitions, especially after the great work the management did during the summer transfer window, both at the technical staff level and in strengthening the team with new players. Now it is our turn as players to repay this effort on the field by giving our best.”
Awana spoke about the harmony within the team:
“The technical staff worked intensively to integrate all the new players into the group, and we have largely succeeded in creating a positive atmosphere in the locker room. Naturally, there are some players who still need more time to fully integrate, but the overall picture is promising, and we are ready for a strong start.”
