Baniyas Fall to Late Goal Against Kalba

Baniyas hosted Ittihad Kalba this evening at Al Shamkha Stadium in the second round of the 2025–2026 ADNOC Pro League. The match ended in a narrow 1-0 defeat for the Sky Blues after a late penalty decided the contest.

The game witnessed balanced play from both sides, with Baniyas creating several dangerous opportunities, including a powerful first-half strike from Akmal Mozgovoy that was superbly saved by Kalba goalkeeper Sultan Al Manthari. In the second half, Baniyas continued to push forward and even had a goal ruled out for offside, before Kalba managed to snatch the winner in the 89th minute when Saman Ghoddos converted from the penalty spot.

With this result, Baniyas remain without points after two league matches, while Kalba secured their first three points of the season. Despite the setback, the Sky Blues showed fighting spirit throughout the encounter, and the technical staff will work to address the errors and prepare strongly for the upcoming fixtures as the team looks to return to winning ways.
