Baniyas suffered a 2-1 defeat against Al Wahda at Al Nahyan Stadium in Round 3 of the 2026/27 ADNOC Pro League season.

The match began with both sides looking to establish control, before Al Wahda opened the scoring through Facundo Kruspzky in the 23rd minute.

Baniyas responded positively and continued to push forward in search of an equaliser. Their efforts were rewarded in the 42nd minute, when Youssouf Niakaté found the back of the net to bring the Sky Blues level before the interval, with the first half ending 1-1.

The contest remained closely fought after the restart, as both teams looked for opportunities to take the lead. Baniyas maintained their presence in the game and continued to compete strongly as the match entered its closing stages.

With the encounter seemingly heading towards a draw, Alaeddine Zouhir scored Al Wahda’s second goal in the 89th minute, giving the hosts a late advantage.

Baniyas pushed forward in the remaining minutes and added time in search of another equaliser, but were unable to find a way through before the final whistle, as the match ended 2-1 in favour of Al Wahda.

Baniyas will now turn their attention to the upcoming fixtures as the team looks to return to positive results in the ADNOC Pro League.
